this weekend will be epic

stranger than fiction all weekend makes me happy and giggly inside =]

also tonight kyle and i are going to see lannen fall, the band that plays the intro music for the sassy lady society... i'm just hoping to make it from plaistow to portsmouth on time, this will probably involve leaving the show early to get to portsmouth for 10

i totally filmed a video yesterday for the sassy ladies and it didn't upload, three different times, imovie closed... i even tried to upload it straight from imovie to youtube but that didn't even work...

my computer is not underlining youtube as a "not word" and this scares me...

i got alllllll my ipod stuff back onto my itunes!!!! yayyy!!!! even my movies, AND all my play counts!!!!! then i realized that weightless by all time low was my most played, but that is impossible!! i haven't listened to that song over 300 times!!! i think ryland might have just been playing it on repeat in my bag for a while, he must like all time low better than panic...

speaking of panic! at the disco, who apparently reinstated the !... i am sooo thrilled with the young veins, ryan ross and jon walker's new project... it is reminiscent of the beatles, but not a copycat, which is sweet, and their new song, change, is way better written and more catchy than new perspective... i am still going to love panic! but i think i will enjoy the young veins more =]

now i must shower, for i work 12-730 today, then i have a busy night =] but it will be an exciting one for sure

how can i forget

i watch a LOT of movies, and it never ever ever gets old...

recently two have stuck out in my head [one i just watched]

one is the education of charlie banks... i had been waiting for the release of this movie for about three years... i was very excited that it released to dvd, at least... a friend of mine won't watch it for the sole reason that fred durst [lead singer of limp bizkit] directed it... this is an absolute bloody mad reason to not see a movie... it's one thing if you've seen something else he's directed and weren't a fan of it [example: CATHERINE FUCKING HARDWICKE: thirteen, lords of dogtown, fucklight] but this is durst's directorial debut and it is an indie gem... not only did he cast a PERFECT group of independent stars [jesse eisenberg, who is a personal favorite, chris marquette, jason ritter, eva amurri] but he also managed to perfect an already perfect story... the actors do help it along, obviously, there are some fun characters, but all in all this movie surpassed my expectations and i am very glad i was able to purchase it for a mere $10 at wally world... i would have paid a lot more for it.

the other film, which i just finished watching, is called explicit ills... i had heard about this film a while ago, and wanted to see it because paul dano was cast... an annoyingly typical reason to see a film, i often go by actor as i search for a decent one to watch... when i saw that lou taylor pucci was also attached to the project i grew even more interested... paul dano has been one of my favorite actors for years, actually, as long as jesse eisenberg [the education of charlie banks, obvs] has... they were in the film the emperor's club together when they were young... lou taylor pucci is a fairly recent [in the past three years] addition to my favorite independent actors, when i watched thumbsucker for the first time... digressing as i always do... paul dano's piece of this film involves a greatly spoken prayer monologue to his father, i got chills... lou taylor pucci's constant drug-induced state also stuck with me heavily, as he falls victim to the actions he takes, then cleans up... a new star in this movie, francisco burgos, is so convincing that i felt everything he felt and i believed everything he believed...

i highly suggest all of the movies i spoke about in this quite serious blog... please, if you do see one of them, let me know what you thought!! here's the list one more time:

the education of charlie banks
explicit ills
the emperor's club
thumbsucker

DON'T WATCH:
ANYTHING BY CATHERINE HARDWICKE

more paul dano:
l.i.e.
little miss sunshine
there will be blood

more jesse eisenberg:
roger dodger
the squid and the whale
adventureland [ignore the abominable kristen stewart]

more lou taylor pucci:
the go-getter
the chumscrubber
empire falls

paul dano and lou taylor pucci:
fast food nation

movies i must see!!::
the mysteries of pittsburgh
the answer man
funny people

i'm a ship like you

Never was a Navy brat but my father was, yeah
He warned me not to make friends with weather
My love rests in a shipwreck
With a compass in his hand
I wait for him, like vultures wait for bodies

Send the wind down
I hear his voice now
At the bottom of the blue
I'll get my coat, it'll be the second coming outside
When I return with you

I'm a ship like you,
One sail, one sea, you and me
And I left my soul next to the shore
One sail, one sea

Wait with my face in sun
That makes me look less young
I miss your half irish grin
And our love is growing upside down
They say, you'll never make it home
But I will wait home, bury your clothes

Send the wind down
And bring him back now
Because he is to me my life

I'm a ship like you,
One sail, one sea, you and me
And I left my soul next to the shore
One sail, one sea

I'm a ship like you
One sail, one sea, you and me
And left I my soul next to the shore
one sail, one sea

Think about sinking down
Think about all of it
Think his face drowning out
I think of it all, think of it all
Think of it all (x2)

I'm a ship like you
One sail, one sea, you and me
And I left my soul next to the shore
One sail, one sea

someone from song lyrics said it was about their grandparents but i'm not quite sure

it's a pretty obvious story, about a woman widowed by the depths of the sea, she waits to one day [i think she prefers the day to come sooner than later] reunite with her love in another life

dia actually wrote this about the song, so here you go, the real meaning!!:::

"Finished they lyrics for one sail. Meg helped me with the melody in the bridge and verse.  It used to be about my favorite Victor Hugo book, "Toilers of the Sea." But that was back when I first wrote it in 2007.  I changed all the lyrics, after one guy, at a bar in Kansas came up to me, and instead of saying, "I like your hair," or, "are you here alone?" He said, "Hey, are you a navy brat?" And I was taken aback.  Then I said No.  But my father was.  And then we talked. And then I went home and rewrote all the lyrics about my father, and his influence on me, and his parents. ... My grandma and grandpa, with one of the greatest, true love stories of all time.....

They're both dead now.....

And they died before I could drive. It wasn't my fault.....

But while they were alive...they were in love. ....

And it was real.....

And that is what I want someday....."
